The West Africa Civil Society (WACSI) is a leading capacity development Institute that works to build civil society capacity for enhanced performance, and effective engagement with governments and the private sector, for sustainable development in West Africa. The Institute was established by the Open Society Initiative for West Africa (OSIWA) in 2005 and begun operations in 2007.
WACSI’s mission: We strengthen civil society in West Africa to be responsive, collaborative, representative, resilient and influential through knowledge sharing, learning, connecting and influencing.
WACSI's Vision: A peaceful and prosperous West Africa that is people-centered and in charge of its own destiny.
Our Theory of Change: WACSI believes that if Civil Society is strengthened to become responsive, collaborative, representative, resilient and influential then it will be a powerful driver of the transformation of West Africa into a peaceful and people-centered region in charge of its own destiny.
